BFG Brute Ram Ships + 3000pts Epic

Hi Everyone,

Today I have finished 5 'converted' Brute Ram ships for my Homemade Battlefleet Gothic Ork army. To build these (on my low budget) I used jet packs from the Ork stormboyz kit. I had this kit lying around already and I figured I could use the stormboy bodies for some special looking orks so they won't be wasted :) Here is what the stormboy sprue looks like:

Here are some pictures of my finished Brute Ram ships:

Here they are alongside my Battleship:

Also, on Friday I played a 3000pts game of Epic. It was the first game I'd played with my Gargant. It resulted in a draw and was loads of fun. I used the game as an excuse to take a 3000pts army shot:

More soon!

  1. Very nice, the BFG fleet is coming along nicely. I did consider an Ork fleet before I plumped for Nurgle, but I couldn't think of a good way of making Looted Navy ships for it (I am not a fan of the GW Ork ships).

The one nitpick I have about the brute ships is that the one still has the gauges showing on top, but I still think it was an inspired use of the rokkit packs.

And cheers for the Epic army shot. Haven't played Epic in many years but I still enjoy seeing the models alot and a force with so much character is a delight to see.

  2. Nice work on the ships. I love the 'old school' rocket looks. They remind me of the Federation Pursuit Ships from Blake's 7.

I also really like your Epic Orks. I'm currently working on an Ork army for Epic and it's always nice to see the work of fellow Ork players.

  4. Hi,

Thank you for your comments. I really appreciate it (and it's nice to know I don't just blog to myself!).

I also enjoy hearing from other Ork players, especially Deathskullz! Very nice looking force Czasowstrzymywacz. I especially like your Killakan mobs. I've just painted up some myself, such fun models to paint!

Andy- how are you finding Orks in Epic? Also what ruleset do you play? A few of my friends are trying to convert me to NetEpic...

  5. Hey Black_Cat - one of the guys on the Tactical Command Forums (http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/index.php) pointed me to your site and I've added a link in our "Inspiration" section. You should stop by some day and join us - it would be nice to have another Ork player over there!

  7. NetEpic is not as good or fun as Epic:Armageddon IMO. I started with Netepic but switched for E:A after trying it once, way better rules with more troop movements.

    Great looking force
